A spectator is asked to the stage to take part in an experiment. You show in front of a housing that looks deceptively like a guillotine. Just the thing has two openings, a large opening for the arm of the viewer and a small opening for a cucumber or carrot. Before your spectators arm but plugged into the top hole, first open the case and take the knife out to demonstrate, in full view, that it actually cuts . Then the knife is again back into the housing, and again demonstrates both objects in the upper and also the lower opening to be cut when the blade falls.
